Hot Wheels Elite Ferrari F40 Competizione - #34 Team Pilot

O so beautiful. Ferrari made only 8 racing F40's. The first two was LM's and the rest Competizions. This particular car came 12th in it's class during the 1995 Le Mans race, a race dominated by the Mclaren F1's. The F40's 3 liter engine was no match for the F1's 6.1 liter power.

This model from Hot Wheels is really something spectacular, I just love all the little details and the branding. Had a opportunity to get a white F40 Competizione (Tip Top branded) a  while back which I let slipped between my fingers. You also get one in the tri-colours of Italy.

My collections of Ferrari's is now steadily growing although it is becoming harder and harder to stick to my budget because of my wishlist and rarity of these models in South Africa. This was a little bit over my budget, ~ $150, but well worth it.

Hot Wheels Elite Ferrari 348 TB

I do not think the 348 was one of Ferrari's most famous cars but together with F355 it played a important part the lineup history of Ferrari slotting in between the 308/328's of the 80's and the 360/F430 of the new millennium.

The 348 shares a lot of styling details with Testarossa / 512 of the same era. The similar designs of the flanks and nose can make it easy to confuse the two.

I bough it second hand so unfortunately I did not get a box but apart from that this model was in good conditions. The red is not the same traditional red as my other Ferrari's, it's a little bit darker. The only flaw in the paint work was on the drivers side A pillar. The detail in the cockpit and engine is on par. All round a nice model but not outstanding.

What I like most about the 348 model is the working headlights that looks pretty cool.

Joal Marooka MST1500VD

Marooka is a Japanese firm that's known for their rubber track vehicles. Normally you would associate a model with these rubber tracks as a cheaper replacement for one with real metal tracks but in this case it's the real deal. The rubber tracks means that the Marooka can go where other carriers cannot go with less damage to the environment.A truly unique model.

Hot Wheels Elite Ferrari 308 GTB

The 308 must be one of my favorite Ferrari's of all time thanks to Magnum PI. This is what my definition of a Ferrari was while I was growing up. As a boy I dreamed of owning one and since a real one is out of reach this fabulous model from Hot Wheels will have to do.

The thing that I like the most is the fact that you can still see the engine, no plastic overs to hide the detail. All round this must be one of the better models in my collection, the interior is lovely detailed and on the outside it ticks all the boxes. The working pop-up headlights is also a very nice feature.

What do I like the most, that it's Magnum's car (well sort of, his was the GTS).

Kyosho Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Competizione - #39 Team Pozzi

The Ferrari 365 GTB/4 was for a long time on my wish and this week I finally got my Daytona. The 365 GTB/4 is one the iconic Ferrari's (seems that every second Ferrari is iconic but ... ). Developed during the late 60's in a time when super cars where moving the rear engine old Enzo and company developed something classic.

Of the ~ 1400 365's build about 14 where special 'Competizione' versions like this one build for racing. This car #39 won the 1972 Le Mans GT class for team Charles Pozzi.

This is my first model from Kyosho and it's amazing. The first thing is that the model is heavy, meaning less plastic and more metal. The second thing is the amount of fine detail in the engine and the car's interior. Lastly I just love the exterior, the details, paint job, sponsorship logos etc.

I paid a lot but still at discount and it was worth it.

What I love the most of this model, the racing delivery with all the little detail.

Bburgo Lamborgini Aventador

The Lamborghini Aventador is currently one of the apex super cars, maybe not as fast a Veyron (350 vs 400 km/h) but definitely up there with the Ferrari's. One thing about  Lamborghini's I like is how good they look in bright colors, A yellow or lime green Lamborghini's just looks good, the same as the orange one, few other cars can do that.

I got the Bburgo really cheap so I did not expect much but surprisingly it was not too bad. Okay the detail may not be as good as Autoart or so but still interior looks good and because the engine is mostly covered by plastic panels you in any case see not going to see much detail in the engine bay. Outside also descend details like the brakes.

All in all a nice 'entry' model.
