Bburargo 1957 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Touring

My Xmas present this year was this stunning Bburgo 1:18 model of  a 1957 Mercedes-Benz 300SL. One of the most sought after collectors cars the 300 SL is also known as the gull wing car although mine is a open top. The interior detail is really very high on a model of this price.

57 Mercedes Benz 300SL

The Mercedes-Benz 300SL was the first iteration of the SL-Class grand tourer convertibles and fastest production car of its day. Internally numbered W198, it was introduced in 1954 as a two-seat sports car with distinctive gull-wing doors and later offered as an open roadster.

Built by Daimler-Benz AG, the fuel-injected production model was based on the company's highly successful yet somewhat less powerful carbureted 1952 race car, the Mercedes-Benz 300SL (W194).

The idea of a toned-down W194 tailored to affluent performance enthusiasts in the booming post-war American market was suggested by Max Hoffman. As such, it was introduced at the 1954 New York Auto Show rather than the Frankfurt or Geneva shows other Mercedes models made their debuts at. The "300" in its name referred to its three litre engine displacement, and "SL" stood for "Sport Leicht" (Sport Light).

The 300SL was best known for its distinctive gull wing doors, first-ever consumer fuel-injection, and world's fastest top speed. The gull wing version was available from March 1955 to 1957, the roadster from 1958 to 1963.

Maisto 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T

Of all the cars that came out of America in the 60's and 70's the Dodge Challenger is one of the most beautiful cars for me. This model is from Maisto, scale 1:24, in red for a white roof. I wish I can get one in 1:18 for my collection. 

Just arrived, my Dodge Challenger R/T. What a stunning car.

The performance model was the R/T (Road/Track), with a 383 CID Magnum V8, rated at 335 bhp (249.8 kW); 300 bhp (223.7 kW) for 1971, due to a drop in compression. The standard transmission was a 3-speed manual. Optional R/T engines were the 375 bhp (279.6 kW) 440 cu in (7.2 L) Magnum, the 390 bhp (290.8 kW) 440 CID Six-Pack and the 425 bhp (316.9 kW) 426 cu in (7.0 L) Hemi. The R/T was available in either the hardtop or convertible. For 1970 only, base hardtop and R/T hardtop models could be ordered with the more luxurious SE specification, which included leather seats, a vinyl roof, a smaller 'formal' rear window, and an overhead interior console that contained three warning lights (door ajar, low fuel, and seatbelts). The Challenger R/T came with a Rallye instrument cluster that included a 150 mph (240 km/h) speedometer, an 8,000 rpm tachometer,[11] 1972–1974 tachometer went to 7,000 rpm and an oil pressure gauge. In 1973, the R/T badging was dropped and these models were called "Rallye", although they were never badged as such. The shaker hood scoop was not available after 1971.

Norscot CAT M16B Motorized Excavator

It was not easy to find this motorized excavator but when I saw it was part of Norscot's line up I had to have one for my collection. It was not easy to find it but I was lucky to get one on eBay for a good price.

Norscot CAT 5110B Execavator

Another one of my big boys is this CAT 5110B Excavator. This is a real beast of a machine and looks very good in any collection. Unfortunately Norscot does not make this particular one anymore, I think it's been replace by the 375?.

Norscot CAT 14M Grader

This model of the CAT 14M Grader is one of my most detailed and functional of all my construction models. Everything that is suppose to move is moving like on the real one. Scale 1:50 from Norscot like most of my other construction models.
