Norscot CAT D5K2 LPG Dozer

The D7K2 is next to my 908 loader one of my smaller construction models. This however the not compromise the nice level of detail found on this very affordable model. All round the detail is very good with little to find fault with.

I must say I really like the cab design with the big windows giving good 360 view.

The D5K2 next to it's bigger brother the D7E.

Will post my own pictures soon :-)

Norscot CAT D7E Bulldozer

The D7E is unique in the fact that it use electric drives instead of hydraulic's like most heavy earth movers. It's also does not use the now familiar track arrangement of the CAT dozer but a more conventional layout.

This is my first CAT model that I bough this year and it's a very welcome addition to my construction collection. Looks particular nice next to my D8 and I think if I get the opportunity to buy a D6 I'll go for it.

What do I like most about this model? I think the engine cover mesh is a nice touch, the tracks are real like and the GPS pole on the nose is cool.

Not much smaller than the D8

Hot Wheels Ferrari F430 Challange - #102 Team Modena

Always wanted a F430 and what better one than a racing version of the magnificent car. I just love the detail on this car, from all the sponsorship logos on the car right too the the seats that's made with real cloth.

The Ferrari Challenge is a very exclusive racing series organized since 1993 over 6 meetings with two 40-minute races per meeting. In 2007 the European series and the Italian series were split in two distinct series: the Trofeo Pirelli for the more experienced racers (being semi-pros) and the Coppa Shell for the gentleman drivers (amateur class).

This 1:18th model reproduces the F430 Challenge – Team Modena #102 which won the European Title in 2006!

Hot Wheels Ferrari 456

This model is a disappointment, when I tried to open the door it broke of because of the brittle medal that was used. The paint job is really shocking, the paint on the doors are cracking and on the roof and bonnet are clear signs of over sprays. The Hot Wheels quality controller surely was sick the day this model was made :-(

Really sorry because the 456 is a beautiful car that deserves better.

Hot Wheels Chevrolet Corvette Z06

This is only my second Corvette, my other one is a 1960's C2. I'm not really looking to buy American cars, I'm trying to concentrate my collection on European cars but there is no denying it that there is a renaissance in the American muscle car market, the new Mustangs, Dodge Challenger and Corvettes are all stunningly beautiful cars compared with what was produced a decade ago.

This Corvette Z06 is not exception, positioned against Ferrari's F430 is right up there in the performance stakes thanks to it's massive 7 liter V8 engine.

So what to I like about this model? What else but the fact that's bright yellow!

Maisto Porsche Cayenne Turbo

I bought this Porsche Cayenne more by accident then anything else. I was really not planning to add SUV's to my collection :-) but at least it's a Porsche.

I must admitted that the quality of my last two Maisto models really surprised me. As I said before not Autoart levels but for the price you can't go wrong.

What do I like about this model? The color, looks good in the green with tan interior.

Hot Wheels Ferrari 612 Scaglietti

One thing about collecting models it that you can get a sense of the size of the real thing compared against other cars. The 612, like the FF and 599, is BIG. They are giants next to example a 458.

In short the 612 is a gentlemen's car that can kick some serious ass. This is one Ferrari that actually looks better in silver than red.

What I like about this model? The blue interior definitely.

Maisto Porsche 911 (997) Carrera Cabriolet

I try to collect only Ferrari's but sometimes I stray :-) This was one such case and for such a nice model of an 911 it was worth it. I always associate a Porsche with a silver color but I must admit that it looks good in the dark blue with black interior. The level of detail is not bad considering that it's a Maisto.

What I like about the model? The surprisingly good level of detail, okay it's not Autoart quality but then again I did not pay an Autoart price.
