Diecast Masters CAT 242D3

My latest diecast model is one that I've been waiting a long time for because it will be my first Skid Steer Loader. This is also one of the first 1:50 scale Skid Steer Loaders that I've seen.

Diecast Masters released the 242 with its tracked sibling the 259 during 2022. For it size this must be one of my most expensive models to date.

The model comes with four different interchangeable attachments.

Transporting is not a problem. The real machine weights around 1 ton.

The bucket has a nice high lift and the arms are stiff enough for it to keep a pose.

The operator is well modelled inside the cab.

Next to my largest loader, the 994, for a size comparison.

The 242 easily fits into the 994's bucket.

Diecast Masters CAT D6T XW VPAT

Another nice addition to my dozer collection is this CAT D6T XW (Extra wide tracks) VPAT (Variable Pitch and Trim blade) from Diecast Masters. Unfortunately not a High Line but a Core model so its missing some of the finer details and the nice Tin. But overall still a nice detailed model.

Below are a few pictures with the my other D6.

Soon after taking the model out of the box one of the tracks broke. Still need to find a way to fix it properly.

I really like the VPAT setup with the GPS poles, nice detail, just missing a few hoses and wires. As you can see nice and crisp detailing on the sides

As with the most of Diecast Masters models an operator is included. On the High Line models you often can remove them but on the Core models they are fixed in place.
